Importance of Conducting a Functional Analysis
Functional analysis involves making systematic alterations on the environment with the aim of understanding the implications of various conditions on a certain behavior. This analysis informs on how the environment can help in understanding a particular behavior that an individual has. It mainly focuses on the causes of a certain behavior hence formulating possible solutions.
How Functional Analysis Support My Work with Clients
Functional analysis enhances performance since there is identification of the consequences of a certain behavior. Therefore, looking for ways to avoid them. It ensures the client is well taken care of since one has prior knowledge pertaining the existing conditions exhibited. The target behavior is also able to be dealt with well, rather than generalizing.
Challenges Foreseen In Conducting Functional Analysis
There are many challenges encountered while undertaking functional analysis including less time, effort, risk of highlighting undesired behavior and inadequate professional experts.
Time is a key factor while undertaking this analysis. It requires a lot of time to collect the data before analysing it. The research might be less effective especially when the analyser is not well informed of the client’s problem. Therefore, leading to wrong conclusions.
Functional analysis requires sacrifice. Some people may find it hard to endure some client’s conditions. This tends to reduce the effectiveness of the research.
Risk of Highlighting Undesired Behavior
This analysis can be challenging since one can easily highlight undesired behavior. This may lead to wrong conclusions.
Inadequate Professional Experts
For the analysis to be effective, it should be conducted by experts. Inadequate experts may reduce the effectiveness of the whole process. For instance, the people being researched on may be having conditions which requires close supervision hence need for professional expertise.
Why Do We Need To Evoke A Response?
By evoking a response, one will be able to collect the desirable information. Therefore, being able to deal with the behavior easily.
