Select an unethical dilemma within a news outlet that has occurred in journalism during the last five years where there were improper ethical decisions. The incident may include bias, plagiarism, inaccurate news reporting, or other related issues. Refer to your text for additional examples.
An example could be Brian Williams, (former anchor and managing editor of “NBC Nightly News”) news scandal.
Analyze the example you have chosen. Identify the facts of the incident and ethical principles that were ignored or slighted that caused the incident to occur.
Write a 525- to 700-word paper summarizing your analysis that includes the following:
Provide an overview of the facts of the incident.
Provide your opinion on what principles and codes were not adhered to.
Describe the importance of responsibility of the news outlet.
Discuss if the news outlet suffered, i.e., their credibility and/or reputation. What were the ramifications?
Cite at least two sources not including the text.
