- hoose THREE (3) research articles from peer-reviewed professional journals or books. Must be actual empirical research studies (not just informational, like a textbook). These research articles do not have to be qualitative, because sometimes we learn a lot through quantitative studies and want to follow it up with qualitative studies. Still, it is a good idea to make sure that you review at least one study that is qualitative. In so doing, you have a better idea of what your own research might look like for this class (questions asked, methods used, data analysis, etc).
- For EACH of the THREE resources you have chosen, cite the source as an APA-style reference, then write one concise paragraph summarizing that source and identifying how it might relate to your own topic ideas for research.
- EACH ARTICLE paragraph should address the following directly and in this order:
a) what the primary research question was,
b) brief description of participants,
c) kinds of research methods used to gather data (e.g., interview, observation, focus groups, surveys/questionnaires),
d) the general results or findings,
e) identifiable limitations of the study (e.g, what might have been missing, overlooked, etc.), and
f) in what way the resource relates to your own topic or ideas for research.
