Purpose Plan
Every person has their own goals which they wish to attain in life. I have personal goals that I have set for myself and which I wish to attain in life. Some of my personal goals include taking care of my physical and mental health, waking up early, being kind and showing compassion to each person I cross paths with, learning as much as I can by the day, being a good listener, letting go of my past, traveling as much as possible and strengthening my relationship with God. I strive to lead by these goals in my endeavors and I hope to attain them eventually. I also have a personal interest that includes being involved in community service, exercising and staying fit, doing outdoor activities, cooking, graphic design, and sports. Additionally, I also possess personal strengths that come in handy in my day-to-day activities which include, dedication, hard work, enthusiasm, trustworthiness, creativity, discipline, determination, patience, and respectfulness.
My educational goals have to do with the fact that I want to finish school and graduate with honors. I hope to find work and work for a few years before starting my business venture. In my studies, I always endeavor to create time to learn something new, I establish good study habits, I manage my time well, I stay resilient, I take time off books to relax, I strive to become excellent and I am always building strong connections with the people that surround me. My educational goals steer me to be the best and they help me become successful in the fire protection sector which I intend to work in the future. My strengths will help me become successful because above all I know what I want and exactly how to make my dreams a reality. For instance, I always wake up early and I have a plan for my day. I tick tasks off my to-do list when am done and I take time to cater to my mental health. Because my educational goal is to be the best, I strive to do that in all tasks that I do which prepares me for a successful career in the fire protection sector.
Education Plan
To become a successful profession in the fire fighting department one needs to pay close attention to their academic as well as career goals. My goal is to become a fire marshal one day. To do this, I need to go to school and study so that I can acquire certifications that will allow me to work in this sector. I intend to go through a four-year degree in Fire Prevention and Safety Technology. Additionally, I will do a certificate in Emergency Management. My goal is to complete studying so that I can get into the professional world as soon as possible.
I will do the degree on a full-time basis and the certifications during the evening or on weekends. This way, I will have ample time for my studies and at the same time be able to do my internship. The schedule will be rather fixed because I will have a lot on my plate. I will be waking up in the morning and report to work which I get off at 2 pm. My degree will be full-time and online which means I will have to create time to do assignments and catch up. After getting off work, I will be going home where I will finish my assignments for the day. At 6 pm I will go for my part-time class in Emergency Management which I will have to attend in person until 9 pm. Because of my resilience and ability to manage my time well, I am positive that I will manage to do everything that is expected of me on time.
Financial Plan
The cost of my education will be costly because I intend to do two courses concurrently. As such, my intention is to apply for funding from the various continuation and pass-through grants that are available. I will apply for federal grants, pell grants, and unique grants so that I can secure as much funding as possible. I will need over $35,000 to complete my education.
The grant will cater to my every need including tuition fees, subsidies, and other day-to-day expenses. Because I need to pay upfront, I will get the loans and pay for school after which I will repay them slowly once I complete school and get a job. I will not have to worry about out-of-pocket expenses because I plan to continue residing at my parents’ house until I am stable to rent my own place. This will keep my budget low and help me save as much as possible. Additionally, the money I will be getting from my day job will go towards small expenses such as travel expenses and paying for resources such as books and other reading material.
Resources Utilization Plan
My intention is to employ various financial planning, career-oriented, and learning resources in college. Myplan.com, CareerOneStop, the National Career Development Association, and StudentLoans.gov are some of the resources I intend to employ in my utilization plan. MyPlan.com will help me plan for my resources and will help me make informed decisions throughout college. I will lead a more fulfilled life because the website has information about the college I want to attend, and the major I am interested in. With this information, I will be better placed to explore and make a change in my career early if need be by bringing clarity and helping me explore my options.
StudentsLoans.gov is another resource I intend to explore. It is the biggest financial aid provider for students in the United States. It will help me secure and loan and also guide me on the proper way to manage the funds. Most times students end up wasting their loans on unnecessary things but with their guidance, I believe that I will be in a position to make informed choices. Additionally, the National Career Development Association will help develop high credentials based on my credentials that will guide my future career. With the training program offered here, I will gain relevant knowledge and skills that will help me secure meaningful work. On the CareerOneStop Website, I will assess myself as a professional and know more about salaries for various careers that will interest me.
